To Hold Onto Light
To Hold Onto Light is a solo exhibition of artworks at SUN & DUST Gallery in Santa Fe as well as an accompanying album of indie-folk music which is being released simultaneously.
The art exhibition opens on June 6th and runs until July 15th. You can read more about the process and concepts here and you can preview every painting in the show here.
The musical side of To Hold Onto Light is available across most streaming platforms (under Jake Trujillo) as well as being listenable in the bandcamp embed below. I wrote, performed, and produced the record, and the subject matter is very much tied to the period of time in which I traveled to the locales painted in the exhibition.
First up below you will find the music video for 'Kitchen Sink' which was animated and edited by artist Zoe Chressanthis. On conception of the blue and seashell motifs of the album art I immediately thought of Zoe's work, and I'm very honored to have been able to collaborate! I hope you enjoy!
